Marni Van Dyk is a writer, producer and a performer based in Toronto. Her first short film “I Am Not a Weird Person” (dir. Molly McGlynn) was featured on HelloGiggles, the Jill Soloway/Rebecca Odes curated wifey.tv, and described by Lena Dunham as “a haunting little short”. She is a multi-platform producer, telling stories long and short & in between from broadcast to digital. In 2017, she wrote the WE Day Broadcast special produced by Door Knocker Media for CBS and hosted by Selena Gomez, developed her first feature in the Writer’s Lab at Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre, and wrote an original half-hour scripted comedy pilot for Blue Ant Media, that aired on the new Makeful channel. Most recently, Marni wrote the 2018 WE Day Broadcast special for ABC, hosted by John Stamos. She is currently working on an original feature entitled Learn to Swim, slated for production in early 2019, produced by Leilani Films and directed by Thyrone Tommy. Marni is a founding member of the award winning all-female sketch comedy troupe, She Said What. She really digs high-waisted pants.
